Client:
Complete General Construction Company

Project Completion Date:
2007

Project Description:
Barr & Prevost was contracted by Complete General Construction to perform QC/QA concrete testing on all concrete placed for the project. A Quality Control Plan was developed By Barr & Prevost to ensure that all information and procedures of the ODOT 898 Specification were followed. This included actual on-site QC/QA testing by our Certified ACI Engineering Technicians. This form of concrete testing provided information that allowed us to approve or reject the quality of each load before it was placed on the bridge. Form removal and final break strength results were also reported to ODOT and the contractor via our Secure Client Based Web Server.

Included in the testing of the concrete for this project, we used Maturity Monitoring; a method to ensure accurate and real-time results of concrete strength. This method was used in the placement of the deck concrete. Utilizing the Maturity Monitoring method, Barr & Prevost was able to supply the contractor accurate; on-site concrete strengths. The information provided to the contractor they were able to remove forms and continue work at a much earlier time. This process would have normally had to wait until the Laboratory was able to provide “up to” 28-day strengths. This project was completed February of 2007.
