Geotechnical Drilling

Barr & Prevost provides a full range of drilling services in support of geotechnical investigations. Our drilling technicians perform sampling of soil and rock for field and laboratory testing that reveals critical information about the subsurface conditions and materials at a project site.

Barr & Prevost’s operates two rotary drilling rigs (one truck-mounted and the other ATV-mounted) and one direct push Geoprope unit (typically used for environmental drilling) from its Columbus, OH base. We also maintain access to additional lease/rental equipment, including skid-mounted CME45 rigs.

Technicians are trained in field classification and the preservation and transport of geotechnical soil samples and rock cores, and have accumulated significant field experience in providing drilling services for a wide range of civil and architectural projects including bridges, roadways, trails, buildings, towers, airports, and water treatment facilities.
