DAYTON EXPRESSWAY & PAUL LAURENCE DUNBAR BRIDGE REPLACEMENTS (Dayton, Ohio)


Barr & Prevost was recently selected by the City of Dayton to perform construction inspection services for the Dayton Expressway Bridge over Keowee Street and CSX Railroad and the Paul Laurence Dunbar Bridge over Wolf Creek. Barr & Prevost inspectors are onsite to ensure that the contractor complies with all contract requirements, structural and material specifications, Maintenance of Traffic ordinances and all other applicable regulations.
Our inspectors continually monitor the contractor’s compliance with regulations and the general safety of the work crew and surrounding public. To keep an on-going log of progress, photographs as well as daily construction reports will be cataloged at the construction site and at our Testing Laboratory. Field inspection records will be used to record the actual dates. Weekly updates will be posted on an exclusive website for this project so that they can be easily retrieved and reviewed at the client’s discretion. Project budget verses completed is analyzed weekly.

HAM-275 BRIDGE INSPECTION (Hamilton County, Ohio)


Barr & Prevost has been retained by Dick Corporation to assist in performing a series of construction inspection task orders under a district-wide contract held with the Ohio Department of Transportation District 8. Barr & Prevost will provide construction management for the HAM-275 project throughout the construction process.

SHE-75-1.52 BRIDGE REHABILITATION (Shelby County, Ohio)


Barr & Prevost was responsible for the inspection of six concrete abutments that were rehabilitated on slab structures in Shelby County for the Ohio Department of Transportation District 7. Our scope included analytical structural assessments as well as site inspection of concrete backwall demolition, replacement and shoring design and construction inspection. The inspection and temporary shoring allowed for ensured uninterrupted highway traffic on I-75.

CITY OF COLUMBUS COMPOST FACILITY (Columbus, Ohio)


This project involved phased construction inspection to prevent any downtime of the City of Columbus Southern Compost Facility. Lagoon grading and reconfiguration provided for better equipment access. The improvements consisted of a new concrete ramp, push wall, and asphalt pavement. Construction was completed within a 3-month period, within budget and ahead of schedule.
